Location of Singita Sasakwa Lodge

As for location, Singita Sasakwa Lodge is situated in the Serengeti Grumeti area in the northern part of Tanzania. This area is located adjacent to the renowned Serengeti and spans over 500 square kilometers.

This exclusive private safari area has only a handful of small camps, which are all under the same ownership, and can only accommodate around sixty guests at any given time. This ensures that the area remains pristine and serene without the chaos and crowds of other tourist hotspots.

Due to its location outside the Serengeti, the guides here are not restricted by park regulations and have greater freedom to offer a wide range of safari activities to guests. Vehicle safaris are available both during the day and night, and guests can go off-road to enhance their safari experience.

Wildlife viewing opportunities in this area are exceptional year-round, with a good range of resident animals, including all the usual suspects except for rhinos. The primary Serengeti migration generally occurs from May to June and October to November. During the intervening Jul-Sep dry season months, a portion of the main herds frequently remain in the area.

Getting there

Accessing Singita Sasakwa Lodge is typically part of a 6 to 12 night safari through the region. This airstrip offers daily flight connections to various destinations such as Kigali (for gorillas in Rwanda), Manyara, Tarangire, Ruaha and Selous (for more safari), Zanzibar (for a tropical coastline), Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam and Nairobi (for international arrivals and departures). From the airstrip, it is a vehicle safari of approximately 30 minutes into camp, with a good chance of spotting some early animals along the way.
